Texans Incorporated Reunion 2007
The Third Annual Texans Incorporated Reunion was held on November 10th at TexasBank in Bangs, Texas, the same venue that served so well in 2006. Attendance was high, due in no small part to the tireless promotion by event organizers David and Martha Cole. Many of the lamps on display belong to David, who has what is undoubtedly the largest collection of its type in existence. Collectors Billy and Tina Bowman from Wills Point, Texas brought several fine examples from their collection as well, including a "Bull and Brands" TV lamp and a Madonna table lamp.
Each year the reunion has had displays with a particular focus, and 2007 was no exception. A great assortment of designs by Floyd Thomas were on hand, showing the talent of an early employee that was truly a "jack of all trades." Also shown was an assortment of lamps designed by Richard Gunter and a great selection from the rare "Western Line" that Texans released in the '70s. But the real stars were the employees, many of which were in attendance. Those present included David Young, Jim Hunter Jr., Pete & Evengeline Eads, Jean Fitzgerald, Lawana Reagor Weathers, Alvin Miller, Floyd Thomas, Karlene Wadsworth, Nada Austin, Lola Priddy, Lurlene Reagor Ratliff, Earnest Covey, and Donna Allen. As the sponsor of each of the reunions, TexasBank is to be commended for continuing their legacy of community support.
